1 Why manufacturer names appear

A development time is meaningless without knowing which film and which developer it belongs to. Product names are therefore used solely to identify the products a published figure applies to, which is the ordinary and lawful use of another party's name to refer to their own goods.

No manufacturer's logo, packaging, typeface, brand colour or other visual identity is reproduced anywhere in the app, on this site, or in any store listing. The app name, its subtitle and its icon contain no third-party mark of any kind.

2 Ownership

All product names, brand names and trademarks mentioned in the app or on this site are the property of their respective owners. Among others this includes names owned by Harman Technology, Eastman Kodak Company, Kodak Alaris, FOMA BOHEMIA, FOTOIMPEX and ADOX, Maco Photo Products, Bergger, CineStill, Lomography and Fujifilm.

Where a name is held by different parties in different territories, the app names both: Rodinal / Adonal (ADOX) is one such case, and is shown that way because it is the factually accurate description.

3 Where the times come from

Every development time in the app was transcribed from a manufacturer's own published datasheet or technical publication, and each row in the app names the document it came from. Development times are factual measurements and not themselves creative works; the datasheets are not reproduced, redistributed or bundled with the app.

No third-party development time database was used as a source, in whole or in part, directly or through any intermediary. Where a manufacturer never published a figure for a combination, that combination is absent rather than filled in from elsewhere.

4 Community methods

Stand and semi-stand development are marked in the app as community practice rather than manufacturer instruction, because that is what they are. No manufacturer publishes or endorses them.
