1 Who provides the app

Agitate is developed and published by Levin Schwab, and is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's terms govern the download, the purchase and the refund of anything bought there. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app.

By downloading or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

2 The Agitate Pro purchase

The app is free to download and is fully usable without paying anything. Agitate Pro is a single optional in-app purchase that unlocks the development journal, the chemistry ledger and data export, and removes the advertising the free version shows.

It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. There is no renewal, no recurring charge and no trial that converts into one. You pay once, and the unlock is permanent.

The price is set per storefront and is shown in your own currency on the Pro screen inside the app, and on the App Store listing, before any purchase is confirmed. Payment is taken by Apple through your Apple Account.

The unlock is tied to your Apple Account rather than to one device. It can be restored on your other devices with Restore a previous purchase on the Pro screen, and it is shared with your family group where Family Sharing is enabled.

Nothing that affects the safety of your film, your chemistry or your equipment is behind the purchase. Every warning, every published development time and every calculator stays in the free version.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by the developer. Request one through Apple's Report a Problem page.

3 Apple's standard terms

Agitate does not replace Apple's terms with its own. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the app in addition to this document, and the App Store Terms of Service govern the transaction itself.

Where the two documents differ, the terms here apply only to the extent they give you more, never less, than Apple's do.

4 Your licence

You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on the devices permitted by your Apple Account. You may not resell it, redistribute it, or extract and republish its database.

5 Development times and calculations

The development times in the app are transcribed from manufacturers' published datasheets, and the calculators implement published rules. They are provided as reference information.

No result is guaranteed. What happens in a darkroom depends on things this app cannot see: the actual temperature of your chemistry, its age and state of exhaustion, your water, your agitation, your equipment, and how the film was exposed in the first place.

To the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for damaged, lost or unsatisfactory film, photographic paper, chemistry or equipment.

Verify anything that matters against the manufacturer's own current datasheet. Where the app marks a figure as estimated rather than published, treat it as a starting point for your own test, not as an instruction.

6 Safelight mode

Safelight mode makes the display as dark and as red as the device allows.

It is not a certified darkroom safelight, and no claim is made that it will not fog photographic materials. Test your own setup before relying on it. Loading panchromatic film requires total darkness, in which no safelight of any colour is safe.

7 Your data

Your recipes, journal and settings live on your device. The developer has no copy and cannot recover them. Use the export function before changing devices or deleting the app. The developer collects nothing about you and runs no server. The one processing that does involve a third party is the advertising in the free version, described in section 12 below and in full in the privacy policy.

8 Availability and changes

The app is provided as it is, without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change between versions. Nothing here limits any statutory consumer rights you have that cannot be waived.

If these terms change, the updated version appears on this page with a new date at the top.

9 Liability

Liability is unlimited for injury to life, body or health, and for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. For ordinary negligence, liability exists only for breach of an obligation essential to the purpose of the contract, and is limited to foreseeable damage typical of this kind of contract. Liability under the German Product Liability Act is unaffected.

10 Applicable law

German law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.

Trademarks and the sources the database is built from are covered by the separate trademark and sources notice.

12 Advertising and measurement

The free version of the app shows advertising delivered by the Google Mobile Ads SDK, as a banner on the Develop, Times and More screens and as one full screen advert when you acknowledge a finished run. It never appears while a run is going, and nothing is drawn in safelight mode. Buying Agitate Pro removes it. The provider, the data involved, the legal basis and the way to withdraw your consent are set out in the privacy policy.

This website uses Vercel Web Analytics. It works without cookies, sets no identifier and builds no profile of you. It counts page views and clicks on the App Store button, recording only which button on which page was used. The provider is Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA.
